'No violation of ceasefire agreement on LoC'

Jammu Aug 19: General Officer Commanding (GOC) 16 corps Lt. Gen T K Sapru said there has been no violation of ceasefire agreement from any side on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir.

Reacting to allegations of breach of ceasefire agreement, following recent incident of firing on the LoC in the bordering district, he said both the sides have resolved not to violate the ceasefire agreement and decision to honour the spirit of ceasefire was taken at a flag meeting of brigade commanders of the two sides recently.

General Sapru was talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of a function in connection with 'Operation Sadbhavana' in Nowshera. He said often militants open fire near the LoC while infiltrating and it can not be construed as violation of ceasefire by Pakistani rangers.
