Lottery saga continues to haunt Arunachal

Itanagar, Aug 19 (UNI) The lottery imbroglio continues to rule the roost in Arunachal's capital with protests from various quarters over the 'unfair draw.' The Arunachal Chambers of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) has urged the concerned committee to re-think its decision and initiate measures to ease the ongoing tension.

ACCI president Lala Techi, in a statement here today, urged the committee not to play with public sentiments and added that they should not cheat the public.

People have been demanding immediate scrapping of the draw and prizes, which were allegedly won by relatives and friends of VVIPs, he said.

The BJP state unit also raised its voice against the draw and change of its time and venue.

''All the prizes went to members of the organising committee,'' BJP President Tapen Siga said.

The All Nyishi Students' Union (ANSU) said the committee was should not have changed the time of the draw and action should be taken against them.
