Heavy rains likely in North Bengal
Kolkata, Aug 19 (UNI) After a long wait, North Bengal is likely to experience heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours under the active influence of the South West Monsoon.
Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur in the rest of Bengal, Met officials said here today.
Sources said there was a cyclonic circulation in the upper sky of Jharkhand. West Bengal and Jharkhand would witness heavy rains and thunder showers due to this circulation.
Kolkata also experienced a few spells of rains and thunder showers this morning.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 29.6 degree Celsius while the maximum was 25.5 degrees.
The rainfall in the last 24 hours was 70 mm.
