Flood water recedes in Godavari

Rajahmundry, Aug 19 (UNI) Water level in river Godavari at Bhadrachalm stood at 42.5 feet at 1800 hrs with flood water receding.

Talking to reporters Central Water Commission sources said water level would further recede tonight, as heavy rains were unlikely in the catchment area, according to the weather forecast.

Water level at Dowleswaram Barrage recorded 14 feet at 1900 hrs and 13.75 lakh cusecs of water was flowing to sea and The second flood warning would be withdrawn tonight, they added.
