Diesel-pilfering gang busted in Vadodara

Vadodara, Aug 19 (UNI) Police here today busted a diesel- pilfering gang run by a dumper truck driver Ziauddin Syed of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation.

An accomplice of Ziauddin, Ayasif Syed, an autorickshaw driver, was today caught red-handed by the police when he was carting away 200 litres of diesel. He told police that the racket was being run by Ziauddin. However, Ziauddin is at large and a manhunt is on to find him.

Accomplices of Ziauddin daily pilfered 200 litres of diesel and most of it came from the JCB trucks themselves. Ziauddin's gang stole diesel even from official vehicles, of which some belonged to the police department which came to the corporation premises, according to official sources.
