Deshmukh to review flood situation in Vidarbha

Nagpur, Aug 19 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh arrived here tonight on a brief tour of Vidarbha, during which he will review the flood situation in the region.

Mr Deshmukh is scheduled to visit Bhandara and Gondia districts tomorrow, and Chandrapur and Buldhana districts on Monday to assess the damage caused by the recent floods. He will also review the implementation of the Prime Minister's special package for farmers at a meeting in Amravati tomorrow, according to an official release.

Besides, the Chief Minister will flag off the Rajiv Gandhi Renewable Energy Half Marathon here tomorrow morning, and later give away the prizes to the winners. He will also attend a function to felicitate Bihar Governor R S Gavai here on Monday evening before returning to Mumbai.
