CPI(M) MLA Farooq Azam dies at 57

South Dinajpur, Aug 19 (UNI) Veteran CPI(M) MLA Md Farooq Azam (57), who was representing the Islampur assembly constituency, died here today.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and three daughters.

Mr Azam died of heart attack at Anandolok hospital in Siliguri after prolonged illness.

He had earlier won from the same constituency in 1987.
