Chopra rises to tied 12th after two rounds at PGA Championship

Medinah, Illinois, Aug 19 (UNI) Daniel Chopra sank in six birdies on his way to a sizzling five-under 67 card which propelled him to the tied 12th spot along with big shots like Sergio Garcia after the second round of the 65,00,000 dollar PGA Championship here.

The India-born Swede was in fine form as he improved upon his first-round level-par card to make the cut at the tough Medinah Coutnry Club.

Chopra was off to a good start as he fired a birdie on the third and followed it up with another on the fifth. Chopra gained consecutive shots on the seventh and eighth to complete a flawless front nine.

Four-under at the halfway mark, Chopra banged in another birdie on the 10th and had it not been for a dropped shot on the 12th, the Swede could have found himself among the top 10.

He sank in a birdie on the 13th to compensate for the lapse and end the round with a two-day total of five-under 139.

At the top, Swede Henrik Stenson, Americans Billy Andrade and Tim Herron and Englishman Luke Donald held the top spot with two-day total of eight-under 136.

Tiger Woods was a shot behind at the tied fifth spot, while Phil Mickelsen shared the 18th position with one-under 140 total.
