25,000 RBI employees, officers to go on strike across the country
Kolkata, Aug 19 (UNI) About 25,000 Reserve Bank employees and officers will go on a strike on August 23 to protest the "anomalies" in the pension scheme and family pension.
All India Reserve Bank Employees Association General Secretary Samir Ghosh today alleged discrimination between the pension scheme of the Central government and RBI employees.
Mr Ghosh said the Central government employees were getting revised family pension compared to the RBI employees.
'' We are demanding 40 per cent commutation of pension at par with the Union government employees. Presently RBI employees get 33.5 per cent commutation, '' he said.
Mr Ghosh said due to this strike, about 30 lakh cheques, cleared by the apex Bank everyday across the country, would be affected.
Forex market, Call Money Market and government transctions would also be affected.
RBI has 20 offices across the country in various countries.
