NBSE affiliation issue misconstrued: NSF
Kohima, Aug 18 (UNI) The Naga Students' Federation (NSF) is of the opinion that NSCN(K) and the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) have misconstrued the movement seeking affiliation of private schools in Naga dominated districts of Manipur to the Nagaland Board of Secondary Education (NBSE).
The NSF, in a release issued jointly by its president V Phushika Aomi, spokesman W H Maring and general secretary K Elu Ndang, said their movement had been misinterpreted by NSCN(K) and NPCC as an initiative that threatens job opportunities and scholarships for Naga students in the state.
The NSF had issued a statement regarding the movement in all local dailies emphasising about the 'biased' education of the Meitei-dominated Manipur government.
It also said the NBSE affiliations of these schools would not encroach upon the job opportunities and scholarships meant for students in the state as every state government had its own job reservation policy based on bonafide citizenship and scholarship is the Centre's policy directly funded by its exchequer.
The NSF lamented that the issue had been replied with a warning by the NSCN(K) and NPCC and their sincere efforts were being questioned.
It had further appealed to all sections of the Naga society to support the affiliation movement in interest of the younger generation.
