UBI donates Rs 10 lakh to Bombay Natural History Society
Mumbai, Aug 17 (UNI) Union Bank of India has donated Rs ten lakh to the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) for the maintainance of its conservation education centre located here at the city's western suburb, Goregaon.
The Bank's General Manager, B L Zaveri, handed over the cheque to the BNHS office yesterday and also visited the specimens collection at the centre, a spokesperson of the society said.
The 122-years-old BNHS is the largest and the oldest NGO in the Indian subcontinent engaged in conservation research, education and public awareness. The society partners with over 100 national and international NGOs for conservation and education projects and has over 5000 members.
