Namdhari expresses concern over judiciary's interference
Ranchi, Aug 17 (UNI) In the wake raging contrversy relating to High Court's intervention in two major institutions in Jharkhand, Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari today took the assemlby's floor to express his grievances saying lack of coordination between executive and legislature paved way for judiciary's taking the uperhand.
In his inaugural address of the monsoon session of Jharkhand assembly, Mr Namdhari said in the past six years the house had never made a comment or interferred in the judiciary system, but now it was crossing its limits.
He referred to the recent controversy regarding special committees formed by the Assembly to look into the affairs of Rajendra Institue of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and reservation and appointment related matters concerning the Birsa Agricultural University.
Jharkhand High Court immediately stepped into the matter querstioing the Assemvly's power for such committees to inquire the affairs of the institutions.
The hearing on the matter is on September 11.
Mr Namdhari said the healthy functioning of democracy was depending on cooperation and respect each other between various arms of the governmwent.
He hoped that they in the coming days would look at the point so that the democracy could run smoothly.
