CM office moves from fourth to sixth floor
Hyderabad, Aug 17 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today moved his office from the fourth floor of the C Block of the Secretariat to the newly constructed office in the sixth floor, due to security and privacy reasons.
According to sources, the Chief Minister had shifted to the new office as per the instructions of the astrologers at 1140 hrs and signed the first file there at 1155 hrs.
The first file signed by the Chief Minister was about providing free power to 50,000 agriculture connections and one lakh tatkal (temporary) power connections.
He later held a review meeting with top officials in the Mini Conference Hall constructed in the sixth floor.
There is a very big conference hall on the fourth floor, which former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu frequently used to address press conferences and have tele conference with District Officials.
Dr Reddy has also been using the same facility and the office occupied by his predecessor ever since he became the Chief Minister on May 14, 2004.
The Chief Minister who thought that he should have a permanent official residence cum camp office and got one constructed at Begumpet, also thought that he should have a separate office where security was tight and no disturbances for discharging his duties.
Keeping the needs of the Chief Minister, the sixth floor office was designed in such a way that there would not be any security lapse or the administrative work of the Chief Minister would not be disturbed.
