Tata Steel trains families displaced for Kalinganagar project
Kolkata, Aug 16 (UNI) The first batch of 30 youths, nominated from the displaced families for Tata Steel's project at Kalinganagar in Jajpur district of Orissa, has graduated in Welding Technology.
They were given the certificates of completion of training in a function organized in Sukinda Chromite Mines of Tata Steel today, the company said in a statement.
As per the rehabilitation policy of Orissa government, the steel company is committed to provide employment opportunity to one nominee of each displaced family in its plant or its associate companies, statement said.
Further Tata Steel, as a part of its continued support and commitment for the well being rehabilitated families, has formulated the concept of Tata Steel Parivar, in which each displaced family is a member.
In order to develop the skills of local people, a tailor made training programme has been initiated by Tata Steel in collaboration with Nettur Technical Training Foundation (NTTF).
Upon commissioning of the plant, these trainees would be employed as per the rehabilitation policy.
Meanwhile, they would be provided opportunities to work in the construction of the plant.
