ESM to train Japanese engineers in IT

Chennai, Aug 16 (UNI) The city-based Maples Enterprise Systems Management (ESM) and Enterprise Application Services (EAS) would train Japanese engineers on network security, system management and other IT related activities.

Talking to newspersons here today Company President and CEO N Ram Subramani said in this connection a Japanese delegation was here to workout an exclusive tie-up with the Japanese government.

He said they are expected to train 1000 engineers in the next 18 months. They were also looking for ESM Consulting business from small and medium-sized companies based outside Japan, he added.

Mr Subramani said since the company possessed the capacity to provide training to a minimum of 4000 engineers every year, they may increase the number of trainees in the course of time.

He said an additional investment of 2.5 lakh USD rpt 2.5 lakh USD would be made in a couple of years. The company has crossed a turnover of about US Dollars three million in 2005, and hoped to close this calendar year with about 10 million US dollors, he added.

He said considering the current trend in market, the company would generate revenue of US Dollars 25 million by 2007. For a similar job, negotiations were in progress with another leading financial firm in Japan, he added.

M R Ranganthan, Chairman of the city-based ABK AOTS Centre for promoting India-Japan relationship, would organise Japanese classes for Maples employees and was also helpful in bringing out this relationship with the Indian and Japanese companies.

Toshio Mino India-Japan Project Director, a Japanese delegate said they were impressed with systems and professional approach of the company. We are looking forward to a fruitful and long-term relationship, which would help the Japanese Government to train its engineers in the technology of tomorrow, he added.

Mr Toshio Mino said in the next two years, many engineers in the IT field in Japan would retire, which would result in a shortfall of 200,000 to 300,000 people in 2007-2008. There would be better opportunities for the IT people in Japan, he added.

Nobuo Kamahari, Chairman of the Pasona Reppower and another delegate said though Japan was leading in all fields, they have to grow further in IT. They need India's expertise in IT sector, and hoped this tie-up, would help them to achieve the goal in this sector, too, he added.

Since the Indian and Japanese Governments had declared the year-2007 as 'India-Japan cultural year', the tie-up, would help the cultural exchanges and activities between the two countries.
