Bababudanagiri: K'taka Govt asked to stick to court directions
Bangalore, Aug 16 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Karnataka today demanded that the State Government strictly adhere to the directives of the Supreme Court and High Court while handling the dispute over the administration of Bababudanagiri in Chickmagalur district, revered by both Hindus and Muslims.
Strongly reacting to the Independence day speech made by Higher Education Minister and BJP leader D H Shankaramurthy that the row would be solved within a month, party State Secretary G N Nagaraj urged the Government to find a solution to the vexed issue only by adhering to the court directives.
He said the Supreme Court had delivered various judgements in the dispute and the Government should stick to it. If the Government violated the age-old traditions and judicial directives, the party would launch a Statewide agitation, he warned.
