Sanskrit, Arabic scholars win President's Certificate of Honour
New Delhi, Aug 15 (UNI) Thirty scholars of Sanskrit, Pali, Arabic and Persian have been conferred the President's Certificate of Honour and the Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman on Independence Day in recognition of their contribution to the languages.
The Certificate of Honour winners in Sanskrit are Thangirala Bala Gangadhar Sarma, Acharya Munishwar Jha, Prof Usha Choudhari, Vasant Giridharlal Parikh, Mathura Datt Pandey, Ganga Datt Shastri, Sheshachala Sarma, Kamlesh Datta Tripathi, S Krishnamurthy Sastry, Dr Jagdamba Prasad Sinha, Dr Parasnath Dwivedi, Shivji Upadhayaya, Dr Mansa Ram Sharma, Dr Debabrata Sen Sharma and Dileep Kumar Kanjilal.
In Pali/Prakrit, the Certificate of Honour has been awarded to Dr Prem Sumar Jain.
In Arabic, the Certificate of Honour was bestowed on Abubakr Md Al-Hasmi, Prof Abdul Aleem Khan and Prof Abdul Ali.
In Persian, the Certificate Honour has been awarded to Prof Nargis Jahan, Prof Mahmood Alam and Abdus Subhan.
The President also awarded the Maharshi Badrayan Vyas Samman to Buddeshwar Sarangi, N Srinivasan, Ramchandra Budhial, S Tatwamsi Dixit and Dr Sukhdev Bhoi (Sanskrit), Rajesh Ranjan (Pali/Prakrit), Dr Mohd Sanaullah (Arabic) and Dr Sayed Kaleem Asghar (Persian).
