Malaysian company to build Hejmady fishig jetty: minister
Malpe Aug 15 (UNI) Fisheries Minister B Nagaraja Shetty has said that a Malaysian company had come forward to take up construction of fishing jetty at Hejamady in Udupi and Ullal in Dakshina Kannada districts under public private Participation.
Speaking to reporters here yesterday he said that the preliminary report on the project at Hejamady had been received and awaited for the final report. The ministery would submit the proposal before the cabinet soon after getting the final report on the project, he said.
He announced that the new Matsya Mahila Swavalamban scheme which had been announced by the state government during the recent budget would be implemented by the end of this month.
Mr Shetty announced that the ministry had taken the decision to upgrade facilities at the all weather Malpe Fishing Harbour, the biggest fisheres port in Asia at a total cost of Rs 2.05 crore.
