27 police personnel awarded gallantry, meritorious medals
Srinagar, Aug 15 (UNI) Twenty-seven Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel have been given awards for gallantry and meritorious service on Independence Day today.
Five police officials have been given the Sher-i-Kashmir Police medal for meritorious service while 22 awarded with Sher-i-Kashmir Police medal for gallantry.
Those awarded medals for meritorious service were ADG Security Jammu and Kashmir Madan Lal, IGP K Rajindra, IGP Traffic A R Khan, Dy SP CID Dev Raj Bhagat and Inspector (S) Mohammad Aslam.
Those given gallantry medals were SSP Reasi J L Sharma, Additional SP Doda Virender Sharma, Dy SP Hqrs (Now SP) Zahid Naseem Manhas, Dy SP Pulwama Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, Dy SP Handwara P N Tickoo, SDPO Reasi Pawan Kumar Parihar, Dy SP Rajouri T R Katoch, Dy SP Hqrs Rajouri K S Jasrotia, SDPO Poonch Yogal Manhas, Inspector Daljeet Singh, PSI Vinod Kumar, PSI Vijay Kumar, ASI Jameel Ahmad, ASI Mehmood Ahmad, Head Constables Tufail Hussain and Mohammad Sharief, Seargent Constables Shivcharan Gupta, Pritam Singh, Kewal Krishan and Punjab Singh, constables Mohd Azim and Gopal Singh.
