Two criminals shot dead in an encounter

Betiah, Aug 14 (UNI) Two dreaded criminals were shot dead in a police encounter at Chakmakhalwa area under Jogapatti police station in West Champaran district today.

DIG of Police Champaran range S K Singhal said the criminals were associated with the notorious Banshi Yadav gang fired at the police while team was conducting raids in the locality following a tip off.

The two were killed at the spot, police officials said.

Two country made pistols and 45 cartridges were recovered from the deceased criminals, police added.
