Sidhu prays at Mahakaleshwar
Ujjain, MP, Aug 14 (UNI) Cricketer and MP Navjot Singh Sidhu, who has entered millions of homes via small-screen programmes during which he makes innumerable wisecracks and recites Urdu couplets, visited this ancient temple town's world-renowned Mahakaleshwar shrine at 0400 hrs today along with his wife and took part in the Bhasmarti ritual wherein ash from cremation grounds is traditionally employed for worship.
Mr Sidhu reached here, along with Madhya Pradesh Public Works Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, after paying his respects at Nimaad region's Omkareshwar, one of India's dozen 'jyotirlingas'.
The parliamentarian rested at the Panchayati Udasin Akhara on the Kshipra's bank.
