Four Maoists arrested in Gaya

Gaya, Aug 14 (UNI) Four hard core activists of proscribed CPI (Maoists) including its area commander were arrested from Bali Mithia village under Konch police station here today.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of CRPF and local police raided a hideout and arrested area commander Shankar Das alongwith his three associates, Shiv Narain Ydav, Laxman Das and Sudama Mahto.

The arrested Naxalites were involved in looting at Bhirki Gurari village under Goh police station in Aurangabad district where four police personnel were killed in 1997.

Meanwhile, security arrangements has been strengthened to protect sensitive and crowded areas from any possible attacks by Naxalites.
