Barnala's son remanded in 14-day judicial custody
Chandigarh, Aug 14 (UNI) A court here today remanded Tamil Nadu Governor Surjit Singh Barnala's son Gaganjit Singh, who is accused of raping his maid, in 14-day judicial custody.
Judicial Magistrate Ist Class (JMIC) Atul Marya remanded the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MLA when he was produced before him on the expiry of his one-day police custody.
Barnala's supporters shouted slogans outside the court premises and demanded immediate withdrawal of the ''false case'' registered against him.
The Chandigarh Police, on the complaint of the domestic help, had arrested Gaganajit Singh on August 12.
Meanwhile, two SAD MLAs Gobind Singh Kanjla and Malkiat Singh Kittu demanded a thorough probe by into the incident by the CBI.
