six injured in north Kashmir blasts

Baramulla, Aug 14: Just a day ahead of Independence Day, militants carried out two grenade attacks in north Kashmir, causing injuries to six people, including three Jammu and Kashmir police personnel official sources said today.

They said militants today hurled a hand grenade towards security forces at crowded bus stand, Sopore, in north Kashmir. However, it missed the intended target and exploded on the roadside, injuring three people. One of the critically wounded person was rushed to Srinagar hospital.

They said militants last night hurled a hand grenade towards the security forces at the main chowk near here at 2015 hours, injuring three police personnel who were standing nearby.

The wounded personnel, including a Sub-Inspector Tanveer Ahmad, were admitted to hospital.
