Verdict reserved in four rebel SP MLAs disqualification case
Lucknow, July 12 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Assembly speaker Mata Prasad Pandey today reserved his verdict on the disqualification of four rebel Samajwadi Party MLAs, who had cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha polls and attended a BSP meeting.
However, the Speaker separated the case of the fifth rebel SP MLA Kamlesh Pathak from the lot and fixed August 18 as the Next date of hearing.
Mr Pandey has directed the respondent's counsel to submit all relevant documents and judgement orders by August 14 after reserving his judgement in the case of MLAs Ms Omvati, Ratan Lal Ahirwar, Kalyan Singh Dohre and Sunderlal.
The verdict is expected to be delivered before the commencement of monsoon session of the state assembly from August 21.
Earlier, in the day the Speaker also rejected the plea of the respondent's counsel P N Gupta to summon the petitioner and state PWD minister Shiv Pal Singh Yadav for cross-examination.
Meanwhile, sources said disqualification case against Mr Kamlesh Pathak might be withdrawn, which was the reason to separate the case from others.
