South West Monsoon active over Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 12 (UNI) The South West Monsoon was active over Kerala as rain occurred at most places during the last 24 hours.

Local weather office said Kozhikode received a maximum of 13 cm rainfall, followed by Perunthalmanna 12 cm, Karipur airport nine cm, Inamackal eight cm and Kannur and Perumedu- seven cm each.

The other chief amount of rainfall in cms are Manjeri-six, Thalasseri, Nilambur, Kochi airport and Alappuzha- five each and Pattambi, Harippad, Munnar and Varkala- four each.

The Weather office said rain was likely in most places in Kerala and Lakshadweep during the next 48 hours.
