Rice expects Israel, Lebanon to accept UN deal
Washington, Aug 11: The United States expects the governments of Israel and Lebanon to accept a UN resolution aimed at halting the fighting between Israel and Hizbollah, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice told CNN today.
The UN Security Council was headed today for approval of a US-French resolution that calls for an end to the bloodshed in Lebanon and Israel and authorizes up to 15,000 UN troops to enforce it.
