Ranchi BSNL to set up Base Terminal Stations

Ranchi, Aug 12 (UNI) BSNL's Ranchi telecom district general manager Sushil Mishra said efforts were on to improve the telephony services with the setting up of new Base Terminal Stations (BTS).

Citing examples of improving services, Mr Mishra said the ratio of over billing complaint stood at 1.3 against 1,000 bills.

The BSNL claimed that in Jharkhand, compliants of over billing in the past six months stood at 240 against 3,10,000 bills, of which only 40 were genuine.

The Ranchi telecom comprises three other districts--Gumla, Lohardega and Simdega.

Mr Mishra said the department would be setting up five BTS in Ranchi within a fortnight.

In Ranchi there are 1,30,000 landline consumers, 9000 WLL users, 1,05,000 GSM mobile users, 22,000 internet users, 4900 broadband and 450 lease line users.
