Rains lash Shimla and adjoining areas
Shimla, Aug 12 (UNI) Light to moderate rains lashed Shimla and other adjoining areas of Himachal Pradesh today after a day's respite from wet conditions, the met sources said.
The sky was clear over the state capital and other adjoining areas till afternoon before clouds covered the sky followed by light to moderate rains in the latter half of the day.
The sources said rains lashed parts of the state after a day's respite from wet conditions yesterday, forcing people in the markets to scurry for cover from the rain drops.
Dense fog also engulfed the town thereby reducing visibility.
Shimla recorded a night temperature of 17.8 degrees celcius, while Sundernagar and Bhuntar recorded minimum temperatures of 22 and 19.4 degrees.
Kalpa in Kinnaur district also recorded a night temperature of 10.7 degrees, the sources added.
