Prohibitory orders promulgated in Tripura West District

Agartala, Aug 12 (UNI) West Tripura district authority will protect property, maintain peace, stop smuggling and dacoity among other things under section 144 Cr PC in Khoai sub-division, along the Indo-Bangladesh international border, a government order said here today.

An official release said the order, which came into force with immediate effect, would remain valid till September 17 as a precautionary measure.

The prohibitory order would be effective from 8 pm to 5 am every day in the 500 metre area of the international border. However, it would not be applicable for Law Enforcement Agencies and Defence personnel.

Any person found violating the order would be punished accordingly, the release added.
