One of 24 arrested a employee of private Indian airline: sources

New Delhi, Aug 11 (UNI) An employee of a private Indian airline is one of the 24 terror suspects arrested in London yesterday for smuggling explosives into London's Heathrow airport, a TV channel tonight reported.

''One of the 24 arrested in UK for carrying explosives into the airport is an employee of a private Indian airlines,'' CNN-IBN reported, citing sources The channel identified the employee as Amim Asmin Tariq (23), of Walthamstow, but could not confirm his nationality yet.

He was said to be working in the security division of the airlines at the airport.

The report could not be confirmed independently and officials of the said airline could not be reached for comment.

The British police yesterday said they had thwarted a plot to blow up aircraft in mid-flight between Britain and the United States and made several arrests in this connection.
