Kumaraswamy's days as CM to come to an end soon, says Reddy
Bellary, Aug 12 (UNI) Suspended BJP member G Janardhana Reddy, whose bribery allegation against Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy had snowballed into a major controversy, today predicted that he would be stepping down from office soon.
Talking to reporters here after court proceedings on the defamation suit filed by him against Mr Kumaraswamy and two of his ministerial colleagues, he said that the days of Mr Kumaraswamy as Chief Minister will come to an end soon.
Referring to former Prime Minister and JD (S) National President H D Deve Gowda's statement that his opponents had been targeting his family members and him for the last 25 years by levelling one allegation or the other, he said this shows that his family members had been involved many illegal activities over the last 25 years. People of Karnataka will teach a suitable lesson to them,'' he added.
Mr Reddy had alleged that Mr Kumaraswamy and Forests Minister C Chennigappa had received a bribe of Rs 150 crore from the mining lobby in the district, only to retract it following the intervention of the BJP top brass. However, he stuck to his earlier charge, prompting Mr Kumaraswamy to call him ''mentally imbalanced.'' Irked by the remark, Mr Reddy filed the defamation suit against Mr Kumaraswamy, Mr Chennigappa and Home Minister M P Prakash.
