Justice Kanade highlights role of jurisprudence in crime cases
Mumbai, Aug 12 (UNI) Bombay High Court Justice V M Kanade today expressed concern over the increasing cases of atrocities on women, included dowry deaths and rape.
He said in some cases it was so difficult to identify at the first hand whether it was suicide or homicide, or an attempt to make it appear a case of suicide.
While inaugurating a legal seminar on 'Medical Jurisprudence', organised by the Mazgaon court's Bar Association here, Justice Kanade said in rural areas murders were often reported as accidental death by dumping body in well. In such cases, jurisprudence plays a crucial role to identify the actual cause of death.
Appreciating the Bar Association's initiative to hold a legal seminar on medical jurisprudence, he said it was essential to organise such seminars to avoid division between Bar and Bench.
Both sides should function giving respect and better understanding to each other, which will lead to fast disposal of cases.
Metropolican Magistrate V K Sharma and eminent doctor Sudhakar Sane also spoke on the issue.
The Bar Association also felicitated its members who have completed 25 years or more in service.
