Haryana chalks out strategy to deal with security situation

New Delhi, Aug 12 (UNI) High level officials from Haryana today held a meeting here regarding challenges to internal security and strategy to deal with emerging problems of security.

Presiding over the meeting, Haryana Chief Secretary Prem Prashant emphasised the need to chalk out long term and short term action plans for every district in the wake of new threats from terrorists groups on global level.

He asked the security personnel to strengthen the intelligence network and to seek more public cooperation to combat any untoward incident and also ensure security to VIPs.

The district SPs and senior officers of state police should have better coordination and liasion with the Central Intelligence Agencies in this connection, Mr Prashant said and added a close watch on industrial labour unrest has become indispensable.

He said identification of foreign nationals and domestic servants should be paid more attention. Vulnerable points like shopping malls, MNCs base offices, factories and sensitive iconic and religious institutions should be under constant watch.

The Chief Secretary said maintenance of public peace and communal harmony is the top priority and the security personnel should be sensitive enough towards this and public awareness be created by various modes of communication.

Mr Prashant said that contingency plans should be chalked out for disaster management and timely resule and relief operations and added institutions having private security must be supervised by police personnel from time to time.

Besides, Financial Commissioner Home, Haryana, Mr K S Bhoria, Director General of Police Nirmal Singh, Addl, DGP CID, Pramvir Rathee, Commissioners of Gurgaon and Rohtak Divisions, IGs, DCs and SPs of NCR region and the Residential Finance Commissioner Ashok Lavasa and Mrs Keshani Anand Arora, Special Secretary, Home were also present in the meeting.
