Gowda hosts farewell party for Outgoing Tunisian Ambassador

Bangalore, Aug 12 (UNI) Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (S) National President H D Deve Gowda today urged outgoing Tunisian Ambassador to India Elyes Kasra to continue to promote friendly ties and trade relations between the two countries.

Hosting a farewell party for Mr Kasra here, Mr Gowda said the diplomat had played a vital role in establishing a bond of friendship between Tunisia and India, especially Karnataka, and urged him to continue to do so.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Kasra stressed the need for taking up several cooperation programmes between the two countries, besides leading high level delegations to exploit the potential in areas like IT, tourism and healthcare.

Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy, Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and Home Minister M P Prakash along with other cabinet colleagues took part in the programme.
