Film Academy to come up in Innovative Film City

Bangalore, Aug 12 (UNI) The promoters of the Rs 500-crore Innovative Film City (IFC), one of the biggest of its kind in the country coming up near the city, today signed a MoU with Griffiths and Bond Universities, based in Queensland, Australia, to set up a film academy in its premises.

Briefing reporters after signing the MoU, IFC Chairman and Managing Director Saravana Prasad said the 'Innovative Film Academy' would be a unique institution providing comprehensive education solutions pertaining to film production. It would provide international exposure for the students who would get an opportunity to make their own digital films.

He informed that Bollywood star Ajay Devgan, known for his action packed roles in hindi films, had involved himself in film education by buying a stake in the institute. He would be heading the management of the academy and be its Chief Mentor, he added.

Speaking at the function, Devgan said the new collaboration with the two Australian universities was good for Indian cinema.

Special Commissioner of Queensland state, Mike Ahern signed the agreement on behalf of the two state-owned universities.
