Ammavari MAha Samrajya to be held after 4465 years

Hyderabad, Aug 12 (UNI) Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameshwari Ammavari Maha Samrajya Pattabishekam, a historical event to be held after 4465 years, would be organised at Kakinada under the aegis of World Vasavi Peetham Chairman Sridhar Swamiji, from August 13 to 24.

Talking to newspersons here yesterday, the Swamiji said that Ammavari Pattabishekam (enthronement of the Goddess) was being held in the wake of the year-long unique yagam held from July 2005 to July 2006.

He said World Vasavi Peetham had taken up the task of yagam for world peace. The Peetham had also decided to perform the Ammavari Pattabishekam on the occasion, he added.

Explaining about the Pattabishekam, the Swamiji said that the event happened 4465 years ago at a time when Kanyaka Parameshwari Ammavaru was impressed by the penance of King Raja Raja Narendra, who ruled Rajamahendravaram, the present Rajahmundry, for her blessings.

He said Ammavaru agreed for Maha Samrajya Pattabishekam to be peformed on her. As a result, great saints and vedic pandits performed the great Pattabishekam, he added.

Swamiji said that for the divine ceremony, organised to spread the message of Vasavi Matha, three lakh devotees were expected.
