5 including Ancheri dropped from National camp for Saudi tie

Kolkata, Aug 12 (UNI) Five players including Rahim Nabi of East Bengal and former captain Joe Paul Ancheri have been dropped from the national camp for India's match against Saudi Arabia on August 16.

AIFF sources told UNI that the three others who have been axed from camp are Madhab Das, Abdul Bashir and Tariq Ahmad.

The fresh inclusion in the camp has been skipper Baichung Bhutia, who returned to the national squad after a brief sabbatical.

The squad for the Saudi Arabia match will be announced on Monday evening. It is going to be one of the toughest encounters for India as the Saudi team has at least nine players who played in the recently concluded World Cup in Germany.

The revelations in the camp are strikers Manjit Singh and Sunil Chhetri, of whom the former is expected to start alongside Baichung.
