Vigilance complains of non-cooperation by VIP accused

Patna, Aug 11 (UNI)Deposing before the Patna High Court today, Vigilance Bureau's Additional Director General (ADG) Neelmani complained of delay in investigation because of non-cooperation by the''influential accused".

During the hearing of writ petitions in the court of Justice S K Katraiyar, the ADG said the investigation was delayed because of non-cooperation by some of the VIP accused.

Submitting a progress report, he said that sanction had been sought from the state government for submitting the chargesheet and subsequent initiation of case against the accused, who were already posted at different posts in the state government.

To this, the court directed the Law Secretary to immediately give green signal to the Vigilance Department for submitting the chargesheet and to initiate prosecution of the accused. The court also asked the Vigilance Bureau to ensure that genuine candidates, who were selected through the BPSC, should not be harassed.

The matter would be next heard on October 18.
