Two Delhi Police officials held by CBI on bribery charges
New Delhi, Aug 11 (UNI) The CBI has arrested two officials of the Delhi Police, including an Assistant Commissioner (ACP), on bribery charges.
ACP Pritampal Singh, deployed with the Anti-Robbery Cell at Karol Bagh was arrested while accepting Rs 50,000 bribe from the complainant (owner of a hotel at Mahipalpur, New Delhi), according to the CBI.
A deal of Rs 1.5 lakh had been struck to get the son of the complainant, arrested in an immoral trafficking case, released on bail, and the arrest was made while the first instalment was being accepted by Singh.
In the second incident, an Assistant Sub-Inspector, posted at Crime Against Women Cell, (Krishna Nagar, East Delhi) for accepting bribe of Rs 2000.
A bribe of Rs 5000 had been demanded by ASI Anita Rai for accepting the bail bond of the complainant and his family in a case relating to criminal breach of trust and demanding of dowry made by the sister-in law of the complainant.
The bribe amount was later reduced to Rs 2,000, said the CBI.
