RMC sends 74 members with relief-rescue equipments to Surat
Rajkot, Aug 11 (UNI) To assist the Surat administration in relief and rescue operations, Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has sent 74 members, including 40 labourers, along with equipments to Surat.
Speaking to UNI, Rajkot Mayor Dhansukh Bhanderi said, ''One rescue vehicle, three JCB machines, three dumpers and one ambulance van were sent to flood-hit Surat for relief and rescue operation.'' 25 Fire Brigade personnel, three Deputy Engineers, six Assistant Engineers and 40 labourers rushed to Surat along with equipments for relief and rescue operation, Mr Bhanderi said. About 200 sanitary workers were also kept stand-by. If necessary, they would also be sent to Surat for cleanliness drive, the Mayor said.
RMC has already sent 36,375 food packets and 80,000 water pouches to the flood-affected people of Surat, he added.
