Racket of clandestine sale of CGHS medicines unearthed
New Delhi, Aug 11 (UNI) The Delhi Police have busted a racket involving clandestine sale of medicines under the CGHS scheme, launched by the Central government to provide free medical facilities to its employees, with the arrest of three persons.
27-year-old Rajinder Kumar, who in active collaboration with staff of a CGHS dispensary in Paharganj, used to supply these medicines to a wholesale chemist in Bhagirath Palace on very low prices which in turn were sold to different chemists in various parts of Delhi, was arrested from the Pahar Ganj police station area on August 9 while he was going to supply the medicines to the wholesaler Naveen Kumar. about 42 cartons of CGHS medicines were also recovered from him.
Rajinder led the police to the godown of Naveen Kumar in Uttam Nagar from where 98 cartons were recovered. Naveen Kumar was later arrested.
After the vigilance officer of the CGHS dispensary was informed of the racket, a board has been constituted to check the stock position of the medicines as also take action against any staffer involved in the racket.
