Parliament to discuss Indo-US N-deal on Aug 17
New Delhi, Aug 11: The Indo-US civil nuclear agreement will be discussed in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha on August 17.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will respond to the short-duration discussion on the deal and the follow-up actions, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi said here today.
He said the Pathak Authority report on the Iraqi oil-for-food scam would be discussed in the Rajya Sabha on Monday.
On the flood situation in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra, he said a comprehensive assistance plan would be made by the government and support rendered to all states.
Mr Dasmunsi said the government was in constant touch with the Chief Ministers of flood-affected states.
He refused to react to the statements of suspended Congress leader K Natwar Singh, who was indicted by the Pathak Inquiry Authority, for his alleged involvement in securing oil from Iraq for his relatives, saying that ''I cannot respond if one changes the bytes everyday''.
He told a questioner to put the bytes together to make an entertainment programme.
