Nilkund records very heavy rainfall of 23 cm
Bangalore, Aug 11 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the Weather Office here at 0830hrs today.
Monsoon was active over Coastal Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at a few places over Interior Karnataka.
Very heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Nilkund 23, Bhagamandala 19, Agumbe 16, Gerusoppa 15, Kollur Kammardi 14 each, Linganamakki, Sringeri 13 each.
Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Siddapura 11, Bajpe, Mani, Belthangadi, Siddapura, Jagalbet, Khanapur, Talaguppa 10 each, Subramanya, Karkala, Kadra, Yellapura, Belgaum, Hosanagar, Koppa 9 each, Mulki, Puttur, Sirsi, Sagar, Thirthahalli, Kalasa 8 each, Bantwal, Udupi, Kundapur, Mudibidre, Nippani, Soraba, Humchadakatte 7 each.
Forecast valid until Sunday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at many places over Interior Karnataka.
Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to heavy rain likely to occur at most places over Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Shimoga, Chikmagalur, Kodagu and Belgaum districts. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at many places over Dharwad, Haveri and Hassan districts, at a few places over Gadag, Davanagere and Bellary districts and at isolated places over remaining districts of North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.
Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at a few places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during next 48 hours. Heavy rain may also occur at isolated places over Belgaum district during the same period.
Outlook for subsequent two days. Increase in rainfall over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka.
Local forecast: Generally cloudy. One or two spells of rain likely. Strong and gusty surface winds.
