K'taka CM exhorts bureaucrats to implement schemes
Bangalore, Aug 11 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today exhorted top bureaucrats to ensure effective implementation of various budgetary schemes announced by the JD (S)-BJP coalition government before January.
Addressing a meeting of heads of various developmental departments at Nandi Hills, about 40 km from the city, he said there was no dearth of funds and the Finance Department was ready to clear any valid proposal.
He urged the bureaucrats to issue orders with regard to various pending proposals. Any order pertaining to any proposal should not exceed 30 days and if there was any genuine reason for delay it should be brought to his notice immediately, he added.
When some officials brought to his notice that the growth was around 12.5 per cent and cited frequent transfers as the reason for the delay in implementing the schemes, Mr Kumaraswamy categorically stated that there would not be anymore transfers in any department.
He said the growth should be 100 per cent within three months.
Almost all senior bureaucrats, including the Bangalore Development Authority Commissioner M K Shankaralingegowda, were present at the brainstorming session.
The Chief Minister assured that he would hold such meetings once in a month. He would soon hold a similar meeting with ministers, he added.
