Indians win two Gold medals in Asian Cadet Wrestling
Chandigarh, August 11 (UNI) Indian wrestlers have so far claimed two gold, two silver and one bronze medal in the ongoing sixth Asian Cadet Wrestling Championship in Bangkok.
According to information received here today, Narender Kumar of National Capital Region struck gold for India by winning the 50 kg bout against Mokhtari Hashem of Iran in the freestyle final contest.
Yerin Areshev of Kazakistan and Bekmov Abau of Uzbekistan got the silver and the bronze medals.
Apporva Tyagi gave India the second gold after winning the 40 kg freestyle final bout against Suzuki Miori of Japan.
Priyanka Singh and Wagh Kaushlya also did India proud as they bagged the silver medals in their respective categories. Priyanka went down fighting to Hamada Cinho of Japan in the final girls bout of 43 kg category.
Kaushlya lost to Horiuchi Yu of Japan in the 46 kg weight category. Indian female wrestler Kavita gave her team a bronze medal by finishing third in the 38 kg category.
The Wrestling Federation of India had fielded a 30-member team, including 10 females, in the Asian Cadet Wrestling Championship which started on August 9 and will continue till August 13.
