Hutch Goa Football League to kick off on August 15

Panaji, Aug 11 (UNI) Eight leading, including, Dempo Sports Club, Sporting Club de Goa and Churchill Brothers will participate in the Hutch Professional Football League championship which gets underway from August 15 at three different venues in north and south Goa.

Goa Football Association( GFA) secretary Savio Messias said.

''The eight teams which will vie for top honours will be defending champions Dempo Sports Club, Churchill Brothers, Sporting Club de Goa, Salgaocar Sports Club, Vasco Sports Club, Raia Sporting, Velsao Pale and Corps of Signals.'' On the opening day on August 15, Dempo will clash against Churchill Brothers at Duler ground, while Mapusa and Salgaocar will take on Raia Sporting at Tilak ground, Vasco da Gama.

Mr Messias also said all the eight teams in the Hutch Professional League will receive a participation amount of Rs 50,000 while the winners will get Rs one lakh and a Rolling trophy and the runners up Rs 50,000 award.
