CPM demands Govt to place World Bank agreements in Assembly
Hyderabad, Aug 11 (UNI) The state unit of Communist Party of India Marxist (CPI-M) today demanded the State Government to table the agreement papers with the World Bank in the Assembly and discuss the issue in the next session beginning August 17.
Adopting a resolution, demanding the Government table the recent conditional agreement for Rs 2000 crore from the World Bank, in the state party committee meeting, CPI(M) State Secretary B V Raghavulu alleged that the Government was accepting the conditions of the World Bank, forgetting the consequences and the welfare of people.
Urging the Government to withdraw the efforts made to get structural adjustment loans from the bank, he said the people would not support the Congress Government here, if it continues to follow the footsteps of the previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP) regime, which had obeyed the rules and conditions of the World bank.
