Civil dispensary system likely to be revived: CM
Shimla, Aug 11 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh government would consider reverting back to the civil dispensary system so as to strengthen the ground level health structure in the state and provide better medical care to the people.
The government is also contemplating the creation of a separate circle for upgrading health infrastructure, including establishing new buildings.The government will also upgrade 21 more Community Health Centres and Civil Hospitals and 50 Primary Health Centres to First Referral Units (FRUs).
This was revealed by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, while presiding over the 2nd meeting of the National Rural Health Mission, here yesterday.
The Chief Minister said that the state had a vast health network of about 4000 health institutions which were catering to the health needs of people in every nook and corner of the state.
He said the infrastructure building programme was under implementation in the health sector under different schemes for which the government would be creating a separate circle.
He said the identified health institutions would be provided Rs 40 lakh each for strengthening the infrastructure.
The Chief Minister directed the authorities to provide suitable residential accommodation to the male and female health workers at their place of work. Besides training to the staff to deliver.
