Acute power crisis grips Delhi, 750 MW loadshedding in many areas
New Delhi, Aug 11 (UNI) Delhi today faced an acute power crisis with the discoms resorting to 750 MW of loadshedding in various areas of the capital.
Out of a maximum peak time power demand of around 3600 MW, only 2850 MW could be met, forcing the discoms to resort to 750 MW of rotational load shedding to meet the power shortage, official sources said.
What led to the critical power situation was disruption in gas supply from Gujarat and other power stations, affected by rains the sources said.
It is the second consecutive day that a heavy loadshedding has been witnessed in the national capital.
Yesterday too, the discoms had to resort to 550 MW of rotational loadshedding to meet the shortage in supply.
